约翰·亨利·格雷（John Henry Gray，1823—1890）。毕业于剑桥大学基督学院，获文学硕士学位。1868年来华传教，任香港首任会吏长，直到1890年去世。在此期间，他曾任广州沙面天主教堂的主持牧师，也就是英国驻广州领事馆的牧师。他有一位中文老师，因此习得不少中国历史文化知识，会说一些汉语和粤语。他在广州生活多年，对广州风土人情较为熟悉，1875年出版了一本名为《漫步广州城》（Walks in the City of Canton）的游记，翻译出版时名为《广州七天》。
